Join us in early December for the world premiere of Staging Evidence, a series of specially-commissioned performances by celebrated UK-based performance duo Pearson|Shanks, will be in residence at Bard Graduate Center from December 5 through 9, 2016.
In Staging Evidence, Pearson|Shanks will mount a performative challenge to the exhibition Charles Percier: Architecture and Design in an Age of Revolutions. Using an irreverent blend of autobiography, history, and spectacle Pearson|Shanks will take audiences on an intimate journey that explores the innate tensions of representation in order to transform the boundary between past and present. Through the run of their residency, acclaimed theater director Mike Pearson (Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre of Wales) and Stamford archaeologist Michael Shanks will intersperse performances with panel discussions that further explore the ways in which exhibitions stage evidence and relate to identity, memory, and history.
