Cloisonné enameling is a vibrantly colored and labor-intensive craft that would seem to have little in common with the fine art of Chinese painting, which is noted for its subtle, monochromatic ink texture strokes and spontaneous brushwork. This lecture will present intriguing examples that reveal common ground connecting these diverse Chinese art forms.
