Marvin Bolt will give a Brown Bag Lunch presentation on Thursday, February 6, at 12:15 pm. His talk it entitled “Glass: Mediator Mundi.”
For 3500 years, glass
has mediated and shaped our experience of the world. We’ll look at some
familiar and unexpected examples to foster our conversation.
Marvin Bolt is Curator of Science and Technology at the The Corning Museum of Glass where he is responsible for developing and maintaining collections, exhibits, and programming in the Museum’s Innovation Center. He holds a PhD in the history and philosophy of science, as well as two Master’s degrees in philosophy and the history and philosophy of science, all from the University of Notre Dame.
