In May, Ivan Gaskell published “Works of Art and Mere Real Things—Again,” British Journal of Aesthetics 60, 2020, pp. 131-149, and, as editor with Sarah Anne Carter, The Oxford Handbook of History and Material Culture (Oxford University Press). Owing to the pandemic, he was unable to take up his annual two-month residency as Permanent Fellow of the Lichtenberg-Kolleg (Advanced Study Institute) of the Georg-August University, Göttingen. Instead, he rusticated at his residence in Lexington, Massachusetts, working on philosophical puzzles.
In July, Nina Stritzler-Levine joined BGC Faculty as Professor of Curatorial Practice. This follows BGC’s new model for the Gallery to integrate research, teaching, and exhibitions.
