Abigail Krasner
Balbale has been selected to join a Getty Foundation funded research
project entitled “Mediterranean Palimpsests: Connecting the Art and
Architectural Histories of Medieval and Early Modern Cities.” She will participate in ten-day workshops to
be held in Cyprus in May 2018, in Spain in January 2019, and in Greece in May
2019.
Ivan Gaskell attended the annual meeting of the American Philosophical Association (Pacific Division) in San Diego between March 28 and 31. He gave a formal response, under the title “Local Values,” to a paper presented by Bence Nanay entitled “Global Aesthetics.”
Aaron Glass will present a paper with Judith Berman entitled “Reassembling The Social Organization: Museum Collections, Indigenous Knowledge, and the Recuperation of the Franz Boas/George Hunt Archive” at the annual meeting of the Royal Anthropological Institute/SOAS in London June 1-3.
