Adam Brandow (MA 2010) joined the Department of Arms and Armor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in January as a research assistant.
Articles by Maude Bass-Krueger (PhD 2016), William DeGregorio (MA 2012; PhD Candidate) and Sonya Abego (PhD 2016) are appearing in Fashion Theory. Bass-Krueger ’s article, titled “Fashion Collections, Collectors, and Exhibitions in France, 1874–1900: Historical Imagination, the Spectacular Past, and the Practice of Restoration” and DeGregorio’s, titled “’Hallowed with Memory’: The Colis de Trianon Collection and Haute Couture at the Costume Institute,” will appear in the forthcoming special issue, Collectors, Practices of Collecting and Collections. Abrego’s article, titled “Cone Mills Denim: An Investigation into Fabrication, Tradition, and Quality,” was published in January.
Mei Rado (MA 2011, PhD Candidate), who
defended her dissertation on February 15, has been awarded the postdoctoral fellowship at the
Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian Institution
(March to August, 2018). Her research project will be Arresting
Silk: Textiles, Representation, and Narrative in Late Imperial China.
