Bard Graduate Center Gallery publications have been recognized by the 2016 Museum Publications Design Competition. Sponsored by the American Alliance of Museums, it is the only national juried competition of its kind. Winners were chosen for their overall design excellence, creativity, and ability to express an institution’s personality, mission, or special features. The Interface Experience: A User’s Guide, by Kimon Keramidas, which accompanied the spring 2015 Focus Project, was cited in the Innovations in Print category. Its spiral bound design, reminiscent of early computer user manuals, was overseen by Kate DeWitt, Bard Graduate Center art director.

“Side to Side” and “Detail Detectives,” gallery activity booklets for children also designed by DeWitt, received honorable mentions in the Educational Resources category.

“We are proud of the AAM’s recognition,” said Founder and Director Dr. Susan Weber. “These projects reflect our commitment to producing excellent scholarship and audience resources in fresh and innovative ways.”
