The BGC community was well-represented at the annual meeting in March of the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies at Colonial Williamsburg.Three PhD candidates made presentations: Matthew Keagle on “Coming Out of the (Costume) Closet: Re-Enactment, the Academy, and Me;” Mei Mei Rado on “‘Western Tapestries’ Made in the Eighteenth-Century Chinese Court;” and Christine Griffiths on “‘A most pleasant Odiferous scent’: Aromatics in Early Eighteenth-Century Britain.”Professor Jeffrey L. Collins chaired a panel on “New Approaches to Eighteenth-Century Gardens” with Meredith Martin of New York University.
